Year End Awards

Club members compete for ribbons and points throughout the season. The points won at each activity are tallied for the annual trophy presentation at the Year End Awards Night. The awards are:

High Point Horse

High Point Gymkhana,  High Point Horse Show, High Point Trail, High Point Trail Challenge,

Most Improved Under 18 Years of Age, and Most Improved Over 18 Years of Age

Each age category of each event will have the following awards:

Champion (1st Place Overall) and Reserve Champion (2nd Place Overall)

Large Special Trophies are presented for Most Improved, and High Point awards. High Point award winners are determined by the total of all points for the year in any one activity. See AWARDS section of the rule book (found underneath the Important Info tab)

HIGH POINT HORSE AWARD

The UNGER FAMILY MEMORIAL TROPHY is presented for High Point Horse. Winner must have placed in gymkhana, trail, and horse show. This award was donated by the Unger family in memory of Bill and Myrtle Unger and their youngest son, Billy, who were killed in a traffic accident. Bill Unger was the club's first president when the club was formed in 1969. The first year this trophy was presented was in 1973.

Reciever for this award is Brenda Jensan and Asha.

*NOTE: For 2017, Gymkhana, Trail Ride, Trail Challenge, and Horse Show points will combine to determine High Point Horse award recipient.

GYMKHANA AWARDS

The HELEN A. KNOX MEMORIAL TROPHY is presented for High Point Gymkhana. It was donated by the Knox family (Bob, Muffy, and Sandy) in memory of their mother. It is believed to have been first presented in 1969. The Knoxes were original ESC members.  
Recieved By Jessica Tyrell for 2016.

POLES, BARRELS, KEYHOLE, CRAZY 8S, and FLAGS each will have a Champion and a Reserve Champion for each riding category.

The HALVERSON TROPHY is presented for High Point Trail. It was donated in 1970 by Jim Halverson and Marlene Halverson, both former members.

MOST IMPROVED RIDER AWARDS

The AL ANDERSON - MOST IMPROVED RIDER UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE trophy is presented to the rider who has improved the most throughout the season. This trophy was donated by Larry David from David's Arena in memory of Al Anderson, who was a long time member.

M.I.R. award recipients are voted for by their peers.

At the end of the season, a short list of nominees is created by the Club's Computer Recorder. This list is calculated based on reviewing all times and placements for all events over the year and the riders who have made the most improvement by advancing forward will be placed on the list.

- Adam W.. - Recipient of the 2015 Most Improved Rider Over 18 years old award. Donated by Lone Star Tack & Feed

The LONESTAR TACK AND FEED - MOST IMPROVED RIDER OVER 18 YEARS OF AGE trophy is presented to the rider who has improved the most throughout the season. This trophy was originally donated and sponsored by Eastgate Saddle Club. Lonestar began sponsoring this award in 2006.

Members can vote once for Most Improved Rider Under 18 and once for Most Improved Rider Over 18. Votes will be seen only by the Website Secretary and Computer Recorder. As each member is only allowed to vote once per award, if a vote is submitted without the voters name, the vote will not be counted.

HORSE SHOW AWARDS

The MARY MILLER/ORR MEMORIAL TROPHY is presented for High Point Horse Show. It was donated by Wes and Peggy Orr, Rose and Alan Miller, and Peggy and Jim miller in memory of their mother, Mary Millar. Wes and Peggy Orr were long time members. The first year this trophy was presented was in 1974.

For each class/event there will be CHAMPION (1st Place Overall) and RESERVE CHAMPION (2nd Place Overall) awards.
